A Complex Query Example

To use a complex query, as seen with the simple query, select an existing news window and use the keyboard to enter a forward-slash (/) followed by a complex search query. For example:

/hog & (clos, settl)

would select all stories with headlines containing keywords that begin with Hog (such as hog or hogs) and keywords matching the fragments Clos or Settl (such as close, closed, closing, settle, settled, settling, etc.).

Remember that all news window commands begin with a forward-slash (/). Most of the examples in earlier sections have not shown slashes because they were simply examples of query elements and not necessarily examples of complete query commands. In an actual usage context, any of those query elements could have been used to form any part of an actual query command.
