Avoiding Symbol/Command Conflicts

In some cases, a command may conflict with an instrument symbol. For example, the command to change a bar chart to a tic chart is TIC. Tic is also the symbol for Travelers Insurance Corp., so typing TIC on a chart displays a chart for Travelers. When a command conflicts with an instrument symbol, the symbol always takes precedence; however, the command is still available if you precede the command with a period (.). For example, to enter the TIC command, you would type, .TIC.
