Drawing Horizontal Trend Lines

A horizontal trend line drawn at a market high renders a resistance line, or the price level at which overbought conditions exist. Similarly, a horizontal trend line drawn at a market low renders a resistance line, or the price level at which oversold conditions exist. Horizontal trend lines are also useful for establishing a base line for price channels.

To draw a horizontal trend line, follow these steps:

1. Display the Trend Line Functions menu.

2. Select Horizontal.

The trend line cursor changes to a pencil.

3. Move the pencil to the price level at which you want to draw a horizontal trend line.
