Global Settings

The Settings menu contains the following Global settings:

Global Setting
Function
Alldata On/Off
Default is on. Controls what the program does with data that comes down outside of trading hours. The exchange filter and the Symbols Information List are the programs sources for market hours.

If Alldata is on, data that comes down outside of the market hours are placed on the first or last intraday bar, depending on whether the data comes down before or after midnight. If Alldata is off, data that comes down outside of a sixty minute period after market hours are ignored.

Calc On/Off
Default is off. Toggles Calc on and off. If you set Calc ON, your studies will update using Last prices. (When you turn Calc On, you may notice a decrease in the speed and performance of your system.) If you set Calc OFF, your studies will update when they receive a Closing price for a bar. For example, if you have a Slow Stochastic that calculates on the closing price of a bar, the study will update when the bar gets a closing price.

Gapspan On/Off
Default is off. Causes overlay and conventional study lines to span data gaps. Toggles span on and off. If you set Gapspan ON, overlays and conventional studies span gaps. If you set Gapspan OFF, overlays and conventional studies show gaps.

Alltimes On/Off
Default is off. Toggles Alltimes on and off. Alltimes is useful when you are charting formulas that contain instruments with different trading hours. Alltimes affects the time scale of a chart.

By default, Alltimes is off. Trading hours are determined by identifying those hours when all instruments in a formula are trading. This creates a time scale that is an
intersection of trading hours, or a time period when the trading hours of the instruments in the formula overlap.

If you set Alltimes ON, trading hours are determined by combining the trading hours of all the instruments in a formula. This creates a time scale that is the union of the trading hours of all instruments in the formula. The formula line will only display where all instruments show data. To fill in the gaps created by setting Alltimes to on, you need to use the Gapspan setting.
