Holidays

On national holidays, some exchanges do not open. Others close early. Consequently, a holiday can cause a gap in your charts. The program not only enables you to suppress holidays, it allows you to suppress different holidays on different exchanges. This means you can suppress United States holidays for instruments that trade in the United States, British holidays for British instruments, and so on.

If an exchange does not open on a national holiday, a holiday will be shown as a gap on daily, intraday, and tick charts.

If an exchange closes early on a national holiday, intraday and tick charts will show gaps for all times after the exchange closes.

If a formula contains two or more symbols from different exchanges and at least one of the exchanges observes a holiday that the other exchanges do not observe, an intraday chart of the formula observes the odd holiday. If a multiple instrument chart contains two or more symbols from different exchanges and at least one of the exchanges observes a holiday that the other exchanges do not observe, an intraday chart displays the odd holiday; all symbols on a multiple instrument chart must have identical holidays for an intraday chart to suppress a date.

In both situations, you can eliminate gaps caused by holidays using one or two holiday lists.
