Setting Quote Code Field Widths

All quote codes have a default field width. (For default quote code widths, please see the table in Quote Codes.) In some cases, the default field width is not large enough to accommodate information. For example, some option and foreign exchange currency symbols exceed the default field length for the symbol code. You can expand or shorten any quote code by appending a comma and a positive integer to the quote code, i.e.,

<code>,<integer>

You set the length of a field when you enter the code in the “ Cell =” box. For example, if you want to set a symbol field to 15 characters, you would enter the following code in the Cell = box.

symb,15

To illustrate how this works, consider the following figure. The first symbol code was placed by entering symb; the second was placed by entering symb,15:
