The Main Menu

The Main Menu is your primary tool for using the programs windows. You will probably find that you use the Main Menu frequently at first. As time passes and your system becomes customized, you will rarely use it.

If your screen is blank (the blue background grid is visible) pressing ` displays the Main Menu.

If your screen contains one or more windows, you can display the Main Menu by using the q + ` keystroke. This keystroke requires that you hold the q key down and press `. q + ` bypasses the active window's application menu and takes you directly to the Main Menu. Alternatively, you can display the active window's application menu and select Main Menu.

For more information about any Main Menu selection, point at the selection you want to know about and click the left mouse key--the selections in the figure above are hot spots.

The Main Menu contains several selections. The figure above shows the Main Menu on a network workstation. On standalone systems and servers, the Main Menu is slightly different.

The number of selections on the Main Menu depends on the program version you are using: a standalone system, a network workstation, or a network server. For more information on Main Menu selections, please read your Installation Guide.
