Color Rules

By default, the bars in the program charts are colored yellow. In addition to being able to change the color of bars, the program has a color rule capability that allows charted bar data, formula results, and graphical studies to be drawn in multiple colors. The color of any charted data series can be chosen on a bar-by-bar basis, allowing important conditions to be marked for quick visual recognition. The full power of the formula language is available for computing color values.

You define color rules through the Color Rules menu.

Once a color rule is defined, you can select it as the controlling rule for any study or bar chart. To do this, bring up the parameter dialog box for the study. Click on the color parameter item to get the Color menu. This menu includes all the fixed color choices and a Rules... item. Click on Rules... to get a list of all the currently defined color rules; then click on the name of the one you want. The parameter dialog box will now show the name of the selected rule in its color item. Click on Draw or Done to cause the chart to be updated.

When you edit an active color rule, the new formula is immediately applied to all chart windows that use that rule.
