Correcting Bad Ticks on Historical Charts

Because daily bars are stored differently, bad tick corrections made on tick or intraday bar charts are not automatically transferred to daily/weekly bars. Ordinarilly, bad ticks on historical bars are corrected overnight, but if they are not, or you cannot wait, you can correct them on daily bar chart.

Correcting a bad tick on a daily chart fixes all historical time bases.

To correct a bad price on an historical chart, first make sure the time base of the chart is daily. You can do this by selecting Day from the rescale menu, or by entering the .DAY command. Then, place the chart cursor on the incorrect bar. The bad price will be displayed in the cursor display window. Point to the bad price and click the left mouse key to display an input box, or type in the .EDIT command and press b. Press b until the input box contains the bad price. Then type the correct price and press b.
