Drawing a Trend Line

With the program, you can draw a trend line with the keyboard or the mouse. While both devices work, you can draw trend lines faster using a mouse. To draw a trend line, the active chart window must be in Trend Line Mode. Once the active chart window is in Trend Line Mode, follow these steps:

1. Move the trend line cursor to the point at which you want the trend line to begin.

2. Mark the point at which you want the trend line to begin.

The trend line cursor changes to a pencil.

3. Move the pencil to the point at which you want the trend line to stop. (If you do not draw the line to a price on a bar, price snap causes the end point to shift to the nearest price. For more information on price snap, see Price Snap.)
