Entering Symbols with The Mouse

To enter symbols into the window format with a mouse, follow these steps:

1. Place the mouse pointer over the symbol you want to change.

2. Click the left mouse key.

This displays an entry box around the symbol.

3. Type an instrument symbol.

4. Press b. To exit symbol entry mode, press s.

This method of symbol entry involves entering a symbol directly into the format of the quote window. By contrast, the command line technique of symbol entry places symbols in the layout without using the entry boxes. You will read more about command line symbol entry in the next section. For now, remember that using the entry box distinguishes these two methods.
