Writing a study involves using the Formula Listing menu, commonly known as the Formula Evaluator (these terms are often used interchangeably). The first step in writing a formula is to display the formula evaluator. To do this, display the Main Menu and select Formulas, or enter the .FORMULA command. You can write two kinds of formulas: a formula (for lack of a better name) and a formula study. A formula is an algebraic expression that calculates a value. A formula study is an expression that is not only capable of algebra, but also predicate calculus, a term we use loosely but which describes generally the distinction.Formulas
Formulas have unique names and parameters menus, and they work in chart windows, quote windows, and alarms. This module explains how to use formulas.
