Keyboard Commands

When you select an option from a menu, the selection actually executes a command. A command is a string of characters that causes the software to carry out a particular function.

Menu Selection Command Action

Every function has a command associated with it. As you gain experience and become familiar with the functions of different menu options, you may find it convenient to use commands.

Commands are listed in capital letters, i.e., .MENU. All commands are preceded by a period. The period enables the software to differentiate instrument symbols from commands.

Most commands are intuitive. For example, the command for adding a default chart window to the screen is .DCHART.
