Percent Change Price Scale Charts

Percent change charts are used to compare the percent change in price from the close of the left-most bar. Percent change charts are often used to compare the performance of different instruments.

The active window is changed to percent scaling by typing in the command .PERCENT.

To return the window to a normal, or linear, scale, enter the .LINEAR command. The .PERCENT and .LINEAR commands may also be selected from the re-scaling menu.

When a percent change chart is initially drawn, all percentages are calculated from the left-most bar. To specify a certain bar as your base for the percent change calculation, place the cursor on that bar and again select percent change from the rescale menu.
