Quote Codes

A quote code is a series of alphanumeric characters that enables you to layout a particular kind of quote information in a cell. The program has a variety of quote codes. When you place a quote code in a cell, the cell holds space for a particular type of price information. The table below lists and defines all the data codes.

When you modify a quote page that has been formatted to display information on more than one instrument, codes must contain a prefix consisting of a dollar sign ($), a number (n), and a period (.), for example, $1.symb, $2.symb, $3.symb, etc. While all codes have a prefix, you dont have to type the prefix when you layout a window. You enter the code, and the program places the prefix on the code for you.

The principal codes consist of the $1. prefix. Principal codes are important because you will often use them to establish the layout of quote windows.
