Scaling with the BEFORE Command

If you want to view bars prior to a certain time or date, you tell the program what period you would like as the right-most bar. You do this by using the command BEFORE in conjunction with the symbol, time base, date, and time, each separated by a space, as follows:

<instrument> <time base> BEFORE <date> <time>

For example, if today were December 5th and you wanted to view IBM in 30 minute bars prior to December 3rd at 1:00 P.M. you would enter IBM 30 BEFORE 12/3 1:00. Notice that you do not place a period in front of the BEFORE command. The reason for this is that the BEFORE command is an element in a longer phrase. The same is true of the AFTER command.
