Selecting a Menu Option

Now that you know about the Main Menu and the applications menus, you are ready to learn how menus work. You access features using menus. You can select menu options using the mouse or the keyboard.

images/aspen00090000.gif To make a selection from a menu using the keyboard, press the i and k arrow keys until your choice is highlighted; then press b.

images/aspen00090000.gif To make a selection from a menu with the mouse, position the mouse pointer over your choice (the active selection turns green) and click the left mouse key.

When you select a menu option, the program carries out the action associated with the menu option and, in most instances, removes the menu from the screen. To remove a menu from the screen without choosing a menu option, select Cancel or press s.
