Selecting a Trend Line with the Keyboard

To select a line with the keyboard, press u. Pressing u enables you to select a trend line or a trend line end-point. The first time you press u, a trend line and one of its end points is selected; the trend line cursor is displayed on the active end-point. The second time you press u, the trend line cursor moves to the opposite end-point on the same trend line.

If you have more than one trend line on a chart, pressing u a third time selects a different trend line and end-point. Pressing u again selects the opposite end-point of the same trend line, and so on.

Some helpful rules for selecting trend lines and/or end points include the following:

images/aspen00090000.gif If the trend line you want to manipulate is not dotted, press u until it is dotted.

images/aspen00090000.gif If the trend line you want to manipulate is dotted and the trend line cursor is displayed on the end of the line you want to manipulate, you can execute a trend line function.

images/aspen00090000.gif If the trend line you want to manipulate is dotted but the trend line cursor is displayed on the wrong end of the trend line, press u again. This moves the cursor to the opposite end of the trend line. You can then execute a trend line function.
