Tick Volume on Stock Charts

Most stock exchanges supply not only the price of a tick, but also the number of shares involved. On data feeds that supply such information, tick charts reflect the actual number of shares traded during a specific period.

Tick volume is normally plotted as a histogram showing the number of ticks that occurred during the period of each price bar.
