Verify Service Activation
After re-starting NT 3.51, verify activation of Remote Access services. To do this, follow these steps:
1. In Program Manager, open the Main program group.
2. In the Main program group, open Control Panel.
3. In the Control Panel, open the Services icon.
This displays the Services window:
Services are listed alphabetically. If a Remote Access is installed, you will see the following services in the list:
Remote Access Server
Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Locator
Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Service
Make sure that they are set to start Automatically. If the services have not started, click each service separately, then click on Start. When you click on Start, the status value of the selected service should change to Started.
Once you have verified that Remote Access Services are active, return to the Program Manager. You are now ready to configure Remote Access.
