Templates are not reported (because they do not represent an actual user) and do not incur data access fees. They serve merely as an administrative tool for quickly constructing new user entitlement profiles. Templates are very helpful in networks which have users with identical or nearly identical entitlement needs.
You can create up to 10 profile templates on an Aspen server.
To create a template entitlement profile:
From the User Entitlement Profile Dialog , select Create Profile. The Create Profile Dialog appears.
Select the Create as Template checkbox.
Select OK to create the new template.
When using template profiles remember that they can never become activated profiles; they function only as example or default profiles. The system administrator creates one or more templates and then clones them to use as active profiles. For this reason, selecting the Create as Template check box results in a profile with an associated [Template] user login name, regardless of the name you enter in the Create Profile dialog box.
