Configure a Phone Book Entry

Once you configure RAS to use the TCP/IP protocol, you are ready to configure a phone book entry for dialing out. A phone book entry identifies the dialing information used to connect to the RAS Server that will connect you to the network where your AspeNet server lives. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Click the Remote Access Group

2. Click the Remote Access Icon

This opens the Remote Access window. (If no entries exist, you will be prompted about this and taken directly to the Add Phone Book Entry dialog box, as shown in Step 3; if this is the case, proceed to step 3.)

3. Select the Add button.

This displays the Add Phone Book Entry dialog box.

4. Enter a descriptive name for the RAS Server you will be dialing in the Entry Name field.

5. Enter the phone number of the RAS Server in the Phone number field.

6. Supply any other descriptive information about the RAS Server in the Description field.

7. Select OK.

This returns you to the Remote Access window.

You are now ready to connect to the RAS Server.
