Downloading Novell's 16-bit Netware Client for DOS/Windows

If you have Internet access and are already a licensed user of a Novell Server product, the most recent version of the client product may be downloaded directly from the Novell Support Connection web site,

Download the following five (5) files to a single directory (such as C:\NOVFILES) on your hard drive:

VLMKT1.EXE, VLMKT2.EXE, VLMKT3.EXE, VLMKT4.EXE, and VLMKT5.EXE

Then download the file TCP16.EXE from

http://support.novell.com/search/patlst.htm

to the same directory as the five VLMKTx files (if you want TCP/IP support).

You may also use the Internet to download the same files via anonymous FTP from Novell's FTP server,

ftp://ftp.novell.com/pub/updates/nwos/dsclnt12

If you have access to the CompuServe on-line information service, log on to the system and enter the command, “GO NETWIRE.” Follow the menus to find and download the needed client files.

The six files you have downloaded are self-extracting archive files. Prepare six formatted diskettes and expand each of the archive files in the following manner:

1. At the DOS command prompt, set your current drive and directory to the directory containing the downloaded archive files.

2. At the DOS command prompt, enter the commands shown below. Insert one new diskette into drive A: before executing each command:

C:\NOVFILES> VLMKT1 A:
C:\NOVFILES> VLMKT2 A:
C:\NOVFILES> VLMKT3 A:
C:\NOVFILES> VLMKT4 A:
C:\NOVFILES> VLMKT5 A:
C:\NOVFILES> TCP16 A:

You are now ready to install the software using the instructions in the section titled Using Novell's 16-bit NetWare Client for DOS/Windows.
