Strategy Menu Views

A strategy menu can be displayed in a variety of views. These views are governed by the selections in the strategy menu. Each view is important to evaluating an option strategy’s performance. The following table summarizes the fields in the Strategy menu; the table’s View field indicates in which views, or modes, the field is available; the table’s Edit field indicates which fields are editable; editing values must occur in Transaction mode:

Enable	Indicates whether a position or group is active. An active position or group is included in the book’s P&L calculation. The Enable field has no heading. It is, by default, an asterisk (*). Toggling the asterisk deactivates the position or group, rendering it gray and suppressing it from the book’s P&L calculation. A deactivated position or group will be ignored when applying its strategy to options charts, quote pages, and other books and strategies.	all	No
Symbol or Group	This field has two functions, depending on the mode in which the menu is displayed. In Position mode, this field contains the symbol for the instrument that has been bought or sold, or, in the case of options, written. Clicking on an instrument symbol displays a drag-and-drop window that contains the respective position. In Group mode, this field contains group names, which describe the way the instruments are grouped. Clicking on a group name displays the Group menu.	all	No
Qty	Indicates the number of instruments bought, sold, or written.	all	Yes
Price	Indicates the price at which the respective instrument was purchased.	all	Yes
Open	Indicates the entry price of the closed trade.	Closed Trades	No

Market	Indicates the current value of the instrument at the market.	all	No
P&L	Indicates the current profit and loss of the respective position. By default, total profit and loss is displayed. If you change the view to daily profit and loss, the value changes accordingly. In Closed Trades view, the P&L field shows realized profit and loss. In Open Trades and Aggregate views, the P&L field shows profit and loss of all open positions.	all	No
Real	Indicates the realized profit and loss of all closed trades in the respective group.	Group	No
Del	Enables you to delete a position.	all	No
Drag-and-Drop	The drag-and-drop field displays a caret. Clicking on the caret creates a drag-and-drop window that contains the respective position.	Group	No

C	The C field has no heading. For all open trades, the field contains the letter C rendered in light green. Selecting the C displays the Close Trade dialog box.	Open Trades	No
